In class we spoke to Matt Shea via Skype. I considered it interesting to get his perspective on how Youtube works as far as how to make money and use YouTube as a job. The one thing that did interest me was how he interacted with his viewers in a way to gather engagement.
I was also interested in his brand. He didn’t have much of a brand but many people know who Matt Shea is. What bothered me from this however was that he mentioned that his views had gone down from the prior year. I think that one way of counteracting that is to continue his main MattShea YouTube account but then continue with sub accounts under the same name to garner different audiences. For example continue with MattShea but then have MattSheafood or MattSheaSports.
