Throughout the week, I significantly improved my website by organizing it more clearly and posting again.
This week in class I also learned about different strategies of visual techniques and creating something that is more visually appealing through infographics and icons. I think for my website this might be a good idea, as some of the feedback I got from Peer Review One also suggested I add in some images in between the short stories to avoid making it text heavy. Similarly I may also try adding in quotes in between my short stories or before them to add variety.
For my next short story I will test out strategies of using more imagery and visuals to avoid just using text.
Additionally, I also got some good advice regarding my website about ways of increasing marketing strategies. In this sense, one of the recommendations I got was to try and use influencers in what Trevor called the “jab jab right hook” approach to get word of mouth and better influence for my writing.
Finally, I was using the details of my first peer review to update my website accordingly. Based on the feedback I got, I made changes, including removing the Home page, editing my about page picture, etc. I updated my website later to reflect the peer review as I didn’t see it earlier but I did change things.
